A little showcasing of just how ridiculous Mercurius's shield can be when activated. It has a long start-up and is easily cancelled but if you manage to get it off, it offers you complete immunity to attacks with the only exceptions being throws. Sure it drains your meter slowly but considering how fast you gain meter in this game and how evasive you could be to avoid throws, it is just plain ridiculous.
That's just insane. And there's no limit at all to how often you can use it? What's to keep you from playing keep-away while the bar charges, then pulling the shield and spamming ad nauseum?
ReplyDeleteIt slowly drains your meter and you gain meter in this game by hitting your opponent, which is typical in a fighter but this game really gives you a lot per hit. (I plan to make a GIF about it later.) That said, if you do manage to get the shield off without your opponent stopping it's rather slow cast, you can pretty much hammer on the offense and so long as you can even land a few clean shots every now and then, you'll continually refresh your meter. It's rather ridiculous but this game's old and far from being competitive, so I can forgive it for not having much grasp of fighting game balance.
